Elizabeth Nussbaum
(also writes under her maiden name, Elizabeth Cairns)

Elizabeth is a writer, campaigner, historian, teacher and an active grandmother of eight. She has a degree in history from Oxford and studied in Aix-en-Provence, and later at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where she became an advocate for the rights of Palestinians. She has taught communications and study skills to adult returners to education, been involved in the women's movement and campaigned on education issues. She has been writing all her life.

Her published books include edited two collections of prose and verse prepared in collaboration with Age Concern, one of which was featured in the Dartington 'Ways with Words' festival. She is currently working on a biography of her grandfather, A.L.Smith, advocate of adult and continuing education, and Master of Baliol College, Oxford.
